TakeDirector is a personal video director: it plans your video, directs the shoot, and edits it. It's built so your videos, scripts, episode plans and settings stay on your device.
What we collect: nothing by default. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads and no tracking. Your videos, scripts and voice are never sent to us.
What stays on your device: your takes (including both cameras when DualCam is on), edited videos, scripts, notes, episode plans, channel memory, backgrounds and settings. Captions are made with Apple's speech recognition, which runs on your device when it can (otherwise Apple's speech service handles it under Apple's privacy policy). Face tracking, camera analysis for the director, sound analysis, multicam sync and story building all run on your device.
Camera, microphone and Photos: used only to record your videos (with DualCam, the front and back cameras at once), to bring in videos you pick, and to save a copy to your Photos library when that setting is on.
AI features (optional — every feature also works without AI; your choice in AI setup): - Built-in AI (Apple Intelligence) runs on your device. - Your own AI key sends the text of your request (for example what you said you're filming, or a script) directly from your device to the provider you chose — Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, OpenRouter or a server you set — using your key, under that provider's privacy policy. Nothing goes through us.
Pro edit packages you export (for Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve) are saved where you choose in Files; they don't go anywhere else.
Children: we don't knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Purchases are handled by Apple. We never see your payment details.
